Aims and Objectives of PMAI

  • »  To serve as a National Organization to promote, encourage and develop the growth of Metal Powder and Powder Metallurgy Industries and stimulate interest in the science and technology and allied techniques and applications thereof.
  • »  To serve as a common forum and platform for individuals, institutions, organizations and industries interested in the above.
  • »  To disseminate information concerning developments both in India and abroad in the fields related to Powder Metallurgy through publications.
  • »  To co-ordinate the testing and Research and Developmental facilities available in the country and bring the industry and the concerned R&D institution together on specific development projects.
  • »  To organize lectures, discussions, conferences, seminars, colloquia and courses relating to Powder Metallurgy.
  • »  To initiate steps either directly or through ISI to standardize metal powders, and powder metallurgy components.
  • »  To promote the establishment of testing facilities for certification of metal powders and powder metallurgical products.
  • »  To identify and recommend areas of research and development work in the country relating to powder metallurgy.
  • »  Creation of an information bank that will help industries in keeping up to date on marketing opportunities, technical development new product development, etc.
  • »  To provide or acquire property such as Offices, Conference rooms, libraries, reading rooms, land and buildings, workshops, laboratories or other buildings and conveniences in connection therewith and to furnish, equip and maintain and conduct the same, and to permit the same and other property of the Association to be used by constituent members either gratuitously or on payment.
  • »  To establish liaison with Government, individuals, institutions and commercial bodies on matters pertaining to powder metallurgy and to advice them when needed or requested.
  • »  To cooperate with other bodies having similar objectives.
  • »  To associate itself with appropriate organization(s) both in India and abroad for the promotion of common objectives and to represent them in India.
  • »  To organize regional chapters in different parts of the country as and when the need arises.
  • »  To do all such other acts as the Association may think necessary, incidental to or conducive to the attainment of the aims and objectives of the Association.
